It’s funny. When you learn to ride a bike—you’ve got it. Hop back on a bike after a few years and you still remember.
Unfortunately, the same doesn’t apply to writing. Writing is like weightlifting. If you don’t train, you become weak. As you become weaker, it becomes difficult to move the same weight.
It’s been several months since I’ve written anything of value. Sure I can write. I remember how to spell (mostly). However, it’s the ideas that make writing compelling. And after a while away those ideas just don’t come as easy.
It’s all in practice. If you don’t start writing, you’ll never be a great writer.
